How your moving
price works.
The online planner is a budgeting tool. It helps you understand the hourly rate, likely work time, and route costs. It is not a guaranteed final bill or a substitute for a required written moving estimate.
Local moving rates
- Two movers, labor only: $110 per hour, with a 2-hour minimum.
- Two movers and a truck: $160 per hour, with a 3-hour minimum, plus $0.99 per verified route mile.
- Local labor time starts when the crew arrives at your pickup. Working time and travel between the customer’s move locations are billable. Office-to-pickup labor is not included in the planner.
- Actual billable time and applicable written terms determine the balance. Square currently offers blocks up to eight hours. For a longer job, choose eight hours and include the full estimated duration in the appointment note. The selected block does not guarantee the total job duration. The planner itself does not reserve time.
What changes the time estimate?
Inventory, stairs, elevators, long carries, packing, and driving between addresses affect the estimated hours. They do not create a separate automatic stair or elevator fee. The planner’s assumptions may not match actual conditions; provide complete inventory and access information.
Equipment, truck sizes & materials
Moving blankets and dollies are included for use during the move and remain with the crew. Suggested truck sizes are planning recommendations, not a guaranteed vehicle assignment. Boxes, tape, wrap and other supplies that you keep must be specified and priced separately before purchase. No packing materials purchase is included in the displayed range.
Long-distance moves
Call, text, or email us for a personalized written estimate. You can also share your move details online. Your route, belongings, access and travel schedule determine the price. We’ll provide the price and service terms for your approval before you book or pay.
Deposits & confirmation
Where checkout is enabled, local reservation deposits are $50. Long-distance payment terms are provided with your written estimate. Local deposits are credited toward the final bill—not added on top. Card information is handled through Square. A saved plan, pending payment, or payment redirect is not proof of a confirmed booking. A confirmation requires a valid calendar reservation and verified completed payment.
Changes, cancellations & remaining balance
Cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled start for a full deposit refund. With less notice, transfer the deposit once to a new date, subject to availability. If Safe4Motion cannot provide your booked service, your deposit will be refunded in full. Reschedule through your Square confirmation; send cancellation requests to 4motionmoving@gmail.com. Changes to dates, inventory, access or route may change availability and cost. The remaining balance is due after the job is completed and before the crew leaves, unless your written service agreement states otherwise. All tips go directly to crew members.
Specialty and regulated moves
Only safes, pianos, pool tables, Jacuzzis/hot tubs and machinery need specialty handling review before booking. Ordinary furniture, packing, stairs, larger homes and jobs over eight hours do not require scope review. Applicable transportation authority, tariffs and required written estimates govern regulated household-goods moves. No online calculation overrides those requirements.
